[English]

The aim of this study was to determine the mediating role of sport self-confidence in the relationship between spiritual intelligence and exercise self-efficacy of karate players in Lorestan province. This study was correlation. The population included all karate players of Lorestan province in 2014. 357 out of 5000 karate players were selected as the sample using stratified random sampling method according to Krejcie and Morgan Table.  For data collection, 3 questionnaires were used: Abdolazadeh’s Spiritual Intelligence (2009), Vealy & Night Sport Self-Confidence (2002) and Curls et al. Exercise Self-Efficacy (2007). The validity (content, convergent and divergent) and reliability (load factor, composite reliability coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient) of the questionnaires indicated that they had good reliability and validity. The results of testing hypotheses by SMART-PLS software and t test and path coefficients (β) showed that spiritual intelligence had a strong and significant effect on the sport self-confidence and exercise self-efficacy of karate players in Lorestan province and sport self-confidence can play a mediating role in the relationship between spiritual intelligence and exercise self-efficacy. Finally, it can be stated that exercise self-efficacy can be improved by spiritual intelligence and self-confidence.
