The aim of this study was to investigate the role of the third world rock climbing festival of Bisotun in developing tourism in Kermanshah province. This study was descriptive-analytical that was conducted as a field research. The statistical population consisted of organizers of the third world rock climbing festival of Bisotun and the sample equaled the population. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data; its content validity was approved by sport management professors and experts and its reliability was calculated by Cronbach alpha as 0.89. Descriptive and inferential statistics (one-sample t test) was used to analyze data. The results showed that role of the third world rock climbing festival of Bisotun was significant in the political dimension of tourism development (mean=4.27), sociocultural dimension (mean=4.0) and environmental dimension (mean=3.47). But it was not significant in economic dimension (mean=3.06).
