Introduction: The present study is descriptive-analytical in nature and aims to examine the safety and security status of the 2024 Pahlavani Wrestling World Championships.

Methods: The statistical population of the study consisted of all wrestlers and technical staff participating in the 2023 World Pahlavani Wrestling Championships hosted in Tabriz, who were selected through a convenience sampling method. The tool used in this research was a researcher-designed questionnaire on event safety and security, employing a five-point Likert scale. The face and content validity of the questionnaire were confirmed by experts in sports management. The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed and validated using Cronbach's alpha and composite reliability. The data obtained from 62 completed questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS version 27 and Smart PLS version 3 to identify the factors influencing the safety and security of this sporting event.

Results: The results showed that five factors were effective in ensuring the safety and security of the championships: crowd management, environmental and equipment safety, technology, technical management, and security measures. Among these, technology had the greatest impact, with a correlation coefficient of 0.474.

Conclusion: The findings highlight the need for a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to event safety and security. Paying attention to these factors will not only help ensure the successful hosting of competitions but also pave the way for future hosting opportunities and elevate the status of this ancient sport on the international stage.
