Abstract

Introduction: A detailed examination of this topic and an analysis of the practical implementation strategies of this technology in the sports industry can yield valuable insights. Therefore, the present research aims to identify blockchain technology's advantages, challenges, and development strategies in the sports industry services sector.

Methods: The research methodology is qualitative, employing content analysis, and the study population consists of sports managers and professors specializing in blockchain technology within the sports domain. A purposive sampling method was used to select 12 participants as the research sample. Information gathering tools included in-depth and semi-structured interviews conducted with experts in the fields of blockchain and information technology, present in the sports and sports management domains.

Results: The results of this research encompass the identification of the advantages and challenges posed by blockchain technology to the sports industry. These include but are not limited to issues such as identity verification, intermediary elimination, the complexity of blockchain technology, lack of understanding of blockchain technology, and more. Furthermore, the research identifies strategies for the implementation of this technology in the sports industry, emphasizing the need to formulate regulations and policies tailored to the perspectives and opinions of experts in the sports business domain.

Conclusion: These regulations should be decided upon and established separately, considering the views of specialists in the sports business domain, to effectively govern and guide the incorporation of blockchain technology in the sports industry and its sub-sectors.
