Abstract

Introduction: The aim of study was explaining the strategies for identifying and development of potential sports businesses in the fields of public and championship sports in East Azarbaijan Province.Methods: The study was an applied research in terms of purpose and a mixed research in terms of method. The statistical population includes sport management faculty members, experts and specialists in the field of public and championship sports, including experts from Sports and Youth officees, sports club's managers, experts and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship and business, as well as entrepreneurs and managers of businesses developed in the field of sports. Twenty-five person were selected in the qualitative section by purposeful sampling method and in some cases by snowball method and in the quantitative section 188 person were selected based on purposeful method. In the qualitative part by using foundation theory with three-step coding method; seven main categories in the form of methods and ways of identification, development barriers, development and prosperity measures, methods and measures to attract capital and individuals, effective and efficient advertising, structure and methods of business development and development of new sports businesses were explained. Results: In the quantitative part of the research, exploratory factor analysis revealed that components and data have adequate sufficiency, sufficient sample size and acceptable factor loading. Conclusion: Finally, the results of repeated measures analysis of variance test showed that the seven components and their items are effective and important in the development of potential public sports and championship businesses in the province.
