Abstract

Introduction: The general purpose of the present study was to present a qualitative paradigm of self-development of sports managers in Iran. The current research was a qualitative research that used the thematic analysis approach.
methods: The statistical population of this research was formed by the senior managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the managers of the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, whose number is 11, and the sampling method continued until the theoretical saturation was reached. After the interview, selective coding, central and open codes were extracted and then the qualitative paradigm of the research was presented.
Result: The results showed that the qualitative paradigm of self-development in the country's sports macro-management consists of 4 categories (self-development mechanisms (including two core codes, succession training, empowerment), organizational factors (including four core codes, organizational strategy, organizational support, organizational culture, personal feedback), extra-organizational factors (two core codes, extra-organizational communication and social culture), individual factors (including three core codes of independence and individual value, individual motivation and substitution of authority). 11 Secondary concepts and 64 initial concepts were formed and the qualitative research paradigm was presented.
Conclusion: According to the results, it was determined that if the sports organizations in Iran can guide the sports management department of the country in the direction of self-development in the two departments of active managers and future managers in the strategic plans and vision they formulate for sports. Also, support managers and provide support programs for managers, in this case managers actually become more capable and develop themselves.
