Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is designing and preparing a strategic development plan for Yazd province’s public Sport. This study, in terms of descriptive strategy, the path of strategic studies and in the case of purpose, is a type of practical research. The statical population of the study was consisted of the physical education professors of the higher educational institutions (12 people), the physical education faculty directors of the ministry of science, research and technology (2 people), the physical education managers and experts (12 people) and the managers of public and private institutions of Yazd province who are involved in sport activities (7 people), which had a total 33 people. The prepared questionnaire contained 32 questions in the field of investigating the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of public sport in the province. To determine the validity of the questionnaire, 11 sport management professors considered and approved the questionnaire. In order to measuring the reliability, Cronbach’s alpha and SPSS software were used and this value based on the questionnaire’s datas, is 0.98 that showes the used questionnaire has required reliability. The results showed there are 8 strengths, 10 weaknesses, 9 opportunities and 11 threats in the case of public sport. After analyzing them in SWOT matrix and group discussing, it was found that the public sport’s strategic position of Yazd province is in SO area and finally
