Abstract

Understanding results and consequences of social responsibility implementation has a significant effect on the attitude of football clubs. The main aim of this study was to identify social responsibility consequences of Iran professional football clubs. The statistical sample consisted of 19 qualitative interviews with experts, administrators and faculty members who were selected through theoretical sampling and maximal variation. Data were analyzed through coding in three stages: open, axial and selective. In open coding, 33 codes were identified which were classified into 9 fields and 4 categories. Fields included competence, stable introversion in the form of technical development, cultural development and legitimacy in the form of cultural – moral development, purification, synchronization and fun in terms of social development and employment, and social justice as well as brand promotion in the form of economic development. According to the consequences of internal and external development of social responsibility, it is suggested that the football clubs adopt an approach tailored to their local strategies accordingly.
