Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the process of published physical education and sport sciences journals during 1384 to 1388. For this purpose, Olympic quarterly, Research on Sport Sciences, Harakat and Journal of Movement Science and Sport were investigated through 7 parameters including thematic share of papers, communion of professional science groups, resources, used rules and techniques, scientific rank of authors, authors’ communion, duration of accepting papers. The research method used in this study was analysis of quantity content and SPSS software was used to analyze the data. The results showed that sport physiology was used most in these papers (34.1%). The evaluation of authors showed that the most authors were assistant professors and Research on Sport Sciences occupied the first place in this regard (65.67%). The most used research method was descriptive methods (53.14%) of all papers. 8% of papers did not mention the research methods. The average of Latin and Persian resources were 25% for each paper and the average duration of accepting a paper was 5.5 months which was similar to the journals of other fields of study. It is recommended that authorities pay more attention to Iran Sport Organization to increase its supportive and collaborative role in sport researches.
