Introduction: This study aims to develop a model for hybrid entrepreneurship in sports using a qualitative approach.

Methods: The research adopted an exploratory qualitative design to examine hybrid entrepreneurship development in a sports context. Thirteen participants with experience in launching a sports business while maintaining salaried employment were selected through purposive and convenience sampling, following the information power principle. Data was collected via semi-structured interviews, and credibility, transferability, and confirmability were ensured to strengthen the study’s validity.

Results: The results revealed that the hybrid entrepreneurship development model in sports consists of several key components. Causal factors such as differences between first and second jobs and individual capabilities drive entrepreneurial activity. Contextual factors, including economic circumstances and digital innovations, shape entrepreneurial opportunities. Intervening conditions, such as financial and organizational constraints, may either facilitate or hinder entrepreneurial growth. The model also encompasses strategies ranging from organizational to technological approaches, along with potential consequences spanning individual, organizational, and economic levels. These findings illustrate the broader impact of hybrid entrepreneurship in sports.

Conclusion: This study advances the understanding of hybrid entrepreneurship by proposing a sport-specific conceptual framework. The findings offer valuable insights for sports entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry decision-makers and it can help grow hybrid entrepreneurship in sport.
