<Abstract>
One of the new theories in organizational leadership is transformational leadership. Transformational leaders prefer effectiveness to efficiency and try to benefit from the human resources according to their and employees’ spirits. Emotional intelligence is also one of the new concepts in the area of employees-managers relationship that assesses the ability to understand and control their and others’ emotions. In this study, due to the low number of population, all population was selected as the sample. So, the census sampling method was used. Sample consisted of 63 managers (higher, middle and operational) of Sport and Youth offices in Qom province who were assessed using two standard questionnaires: Siberia Shrink Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership Style. These questionnaires were approved by professors and their reliability was calculate by Cronbach's alpha as 0.94 and 0.93 respectively. Data were analyzed using one-sample Kolmogorov-Simonov test, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression at a significance level of <em>P</em>≤0.05. The results showed a relationship between emotional intelligence and transformational leadership style of managers in Sport and Youth offices of Qom province. Also, the stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that among the five components of emotional intelligence, empathy and self-awareness were able to explain changes in transformational leadership. Thus, if managers of sport organizations employ a managerial and emotional evaluation system as a part of the organizational recruitment and management processes and systems, they can increase the efficiency of their organizations.
