For this purpose, 12618 citations in 145 doctorate dissertations and postgraduate theses of Physical Education Faculty, University of Tehran (1386-87) were investigated by citation analysis. SPSS and Excel software were used to analyze the data. The results showed that English journals were cited most. English sources were cited most in the three mentioned periods as well. Printed sources were cited 94.26% and web-based sources 5.74%. The citations of scientific works of supervisors and advisors showed that averagely for each postgraduate thesis, there were 1.62% citations and for each doctorate dissertation, there were 1% citations of their works.
