The aim of this study was to spatially analze sport areas of region 1 in Tehran using geographical information systems (GIS) and to provide an optimal model and was carried out by a descriptive – analytical research method. Statistical sample of the present research equaled the statistical population which included all sport areas of region 1 of Tehran (n=54). Descriptive data of these areas were collected using the existing documents in the related offices. Then, the researcher attended these areas using a GPS set to record their geographical location (geographical longitude and latitude) and spatial data of this region were collected by land maps. The obtained data were analyzed by ARC – GIS 10 software. The results showed that sport areas and places were not compeletely compatible with the defined standards. Also, sport capitation in the region was lower than the standard sport capitation. Generally, GIS was a proper method to spatially analyze sports areas.

The aim of this research was to predicit organizational commitment by satisfaction factors of volunteers in sport. The method applied in this research was descriptive – correlation. The statistical population consisted of all volunteers participating in the 10th culture-sport Iran university Olympiad for male and female university students. Due to the low statistical population, the sample equaled the population (N=n=120). The required data were collected by the demorgaphic questionnaire, volunteer satisfaction questionnaire (Mallaee et al., 2010) and organizational commitment questionnaire (Allen and Meyer, 1997). The face and content validity of the questionnaires were confirmed by an expert university panel. Cronbach's alpha coefficent was used to test the reliability of the satisfaction and organizational commitment questionnaires (α=0.92) in a pilot study. The research data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The research hypotheses were tested by regression analysis and Friedman test. The results showed that the mean of organizational commitment and satisfaction of volunteers was 3.66+0.64 and 3.79+0.49 respectively. Also, the results showed that volunteers' satisfaction factors were prioritized as satisfaction from acquiring experience, social, purposive, commitment, career, material, enhancement and protective. Furthermore, regression analysis showed that four factors of satisfaction from commitment, protective, career and material explanined 57% of variance of organizational commitment (F(4,115)=37.164, P=0.001, R2=0.57). The managers of volunteering affairs and sport event authorities are recommended to pay attention to the effectiveness of satisfaction factors and organizational commitment and with regard to the recognized priorities of satisfaction and organizational commitment factors, to design and perform the plans of volunteer management so that volunteers' satisfaction and their organizational commitment can increase.

The aim of this study was to fit regression equation of knowledge management and organizational effectiveness in Iran sport organizations to determine the effect of knowledge management processes on organizational effectiveness. The statistical population consisted of all staff managers of the Ministry of Sport and Youth, executive board of National Olympic Committee, staff managers of the National Olympic Academy and board of directors of premier sports federations. The sample size equaled the population size (n=150). This search was descriptive correlation and was conducted as field. The content validity of the questionnaires was determined by the theoretical foundations of the research and professors and experts' viewpoints and the reliability through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for knowledge management questionnaire (α=0.88) and organizational effectiveness (α=0.83). The descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The results showed a significant positive relationship between knowledge management and its processes and organizational effectiveness in Iran sport organizations. Knowledge transfer had the high correlation coefficient while knowledge record had the lowest correlation with the organizational effectiveness (r=0.86, p=0.01). The multivariate regression results showed that 0.765% of the variance in organizational effectiveness was related to the knowledge management processes (p<0.01, R2=0.756) and knowledge application, record, acquistion and transfer had the greatest importance in the prediction of changes in organizational effectiveness (p<0.01). The findings of this research showed that the design of a knowledge-oriented structure at all levels of Iran sport organizations improves the effectiveness of these organizations. In this regard, staff managers as knowledge producers and national knowledge investment play an important role.

The aim of this research was to study the effect of communication skills and interpersonal communication and their roles in the effectiveness of managers of sport organizations. The research was descriptive analytical and conducted through a survey. The population included 670 sport managers of Iran sport organizations. The sample was selected by stratified random sampling method. Questionnaires including Barton J communication skills, Graham interpersonal communication and Hsu organizational effectiveness with reliabilities of 0.81, 0.86 and 0.90 respectively were used to collect data. Inferential statistical methods and structural equation model (SEM) were utilized to investigate the effect of observed variables on latent variables. The results showed a significant relationship between communication skills, interpersonal communication with superiors and inferiors and organizational effectiveness of sport managers (P≤0.05). Hence, the results of implementing measuring models for the route analysis of communication skills confirmed interpersonal communication between the superiors and inferiors as well as organizational effectiveness of the conceptual models of this research.

The aim of this study was to explain and prioritize the barriers facing privatization of sports in Iran. First, complementary data were gathered, coded and analyzed through the review of the theoretical bases, comparative studies and deep semi–structured interviews with experts in order to identify the barriers facing privatization of sports. After identifying the barriers, the obtained variables were ranked in four categories of economic, social – cultural, political – legal, and managerial barriers and 40 components. First, the barriers were ranked using academic experts' viewpoints and AHP method. Then, using descripitve research method and inferential statistics, they and their 40 components were ranked using the researcher-made questionnaire distributed among executive managers. The results showed that the main barriers facing sport privatization respectively were managerial, cultural - social, political – legal and economic from the viewpoints of the academic experts, and managerial, cultural - social, economic and political – legal according to the executive managers' viewpoints. From the perspectives of executive managerss, indirect competition of government with the private sector, managers' resistance to the reduction of government's operations due to their dependence on the public sector, the lack of investment security in Iran and the government's use of sport as a political tool were the most important managerial, cultural - social, economic and political – legal barriers facing privatization of sport in Iran.

This study aimed at analyzing the relationship of tranformational leadership and organizational justice with organizational citizenship behaviors of experts of Ministry of Sport and Youth. Multifactor leadership questionnaire, organizational justice scale and organizational citizenship scale were used to collect data. 220 out of 280 questionnaires (78.5%) that were distributed among experts of Ministry of Sport and Youth were considered as the sample of the research. Multiple correlation coefficients, multivariate regression and structural equation modeling method were used to analyze data. The results showed that transformational leadership had 0.36 effect coefficient on organizational citizenship behaviors. Also, considering 0.55 effect coefficient of transformational leadership on organizational justice and 0.44 effect coefficient of organizational justice on organizational citizenship behavior, the total effect coefficient of transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior was 0.60. The presented model in this study confirmed the direct and indriect effects of transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior through organizational justice. Thus, using this approach, managers of Ministry of Sport and Youth can increase not only perceptions of organizational justice in their employees, but also organizational citizenship behaviors and ultimately their organizations' performance.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of organizational commitment and job satisfaction with emotional intelligence of employees. The statistical population included all staff of Physical Education General Dpeartment of Lorestan province (n=50). Due to the low sample size, the sample equaled the statistical population. To collect data, the emotional intelligence questionnaire of Salovey and Mayer (1995), organizational commitment questionnaire of Moday et al. (1979) and job satisfaction questionnaire of Brayfiedl and Rothe (1951) were used. Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple stepwise regression were used to analyze the data. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment (r=0.580, P=0.001) and job satisfaction (r=0.550, P=0.001). Also, there was a significant positive relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction (r=0.535, P=0.001). The results of multiple regression indicated that two dimensions of clarity of feelings and attention to feelings were significant in predicting organizational commitment and job satisfaction.

The aim of this study was to survey the relative ratio of organizational citizenship behavior through organization justice in Iran male elite athletes. This research was descriptive correlation which was conducted as a survey. The population of the study included athletes employed in Iran sport leagues (handball, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, karate, badminton and wrestling). 179 athletes (94 athletes in team sports and 85 athletes in individual sports) were selected as the sample of the study in a pilot study. Regarding the limited access to the sample, convenience sampling method was used. To collect data, researcher-made OCB questionnaires based on Organ and Winner (1983) and Hui and Lam (2000) and organization justice (OJ) based on Nihof and Moorman (1993) were used. To determine the reliability of the questionnaires, Cronbach's alpha was used in a pilot study (reliability for organization justice was 89% and organization citizenship behavior was 83%). To approve the validity of the questionnaires, sport management experts' points of view were used. Descriptive (mean and standard deviaton) and inferential statistics (correlation coefficent, regression, variance analysis and t test) were used to analyze the data. The obtained results were analyzed through SPSS. The results showed a relationship between OJ and OCB (p≤0.001). There was a correlation between interactive justice and OCB (p≤0.03), but there was no significant relationship between two others aspects and OCB.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the coaching and referreeing courses from the viewpoints of those university students who participated in these courses. The research method used in this study was descriptive. The population consisted of the students of physical education faculties of Tehran state universities (n=2000) and the sample was determined as 322 subjects based on Morgan table. A researcher-made questionnaire (24 items) based on Kirk Patric's model was used to collect data. The validity of this questionnaire was confirmed by 8 sport management professors, and the reliability was acquired through Cronbach's alpha (α=0.91). To analyze the data, descriptive (mean and frequency percentage) and inferential statistics (one sample t test) were used. The results showed that coaching courses in eight sport fields and referreeing courses in four sport fields had the necessary effectiveness.

To suceed in sport arena, provinces should have plans parallel with national sport plans. Khorasan Razavi province as one of the provinces that has played a vital role in Iran sport lacks a comprehensive plan in sport and sport activities are follwoed randomly. Therefore, this study aimed at developing the strategic plan of Sport and Youth Organization of Khorasan Razavi in sport and physical education section. The statistical population included high-ranking experts and authorities of sport in Khorasan Razavi (n=220). Census sampling method was used and finally 202 questionnaires were returned correctly. A combination of qualitative (open questionnaire and interview) and quantitative (rating and ranking) was used to collect and analyze the data. An open questionnaire was used in this study and respondents were asked to list the strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of this organization in sport section. After the research committee had determined the significance rate and rank of each mentioned factor, determined the strategic position of the organization and matche internal and external factors, 12 strategies were elicited and broken into action plans. Also, vision, mission, key values and qualitative goals were determined. Sport and Youth Organization of Khorasan Razavi was in SO strategic position so strategies should be directed towards developing activities. This finding was considered.
